Bodyboarding Sports Insurance

Bodyboarding is a very popular sport here in the UK. We have some fantastic beaches and they get even better during the height of the Summer. Bodyboarding is much more accessible than surfing and is generally safer. However being an extreme sport it is very much still considered a dangerous sport and should be treated as such.

You may consider yourself a good swimmer, however anyone can be caught out by the Riptides that are present at most surf spots. Waves are obviously a necessity when it come to Bodyboarding. They look beautiful from the shore. However these are extremely powerful and can break bones. The most common injury within the sport is a wipeout whilst surfing a wave.

The risks do not end there, surfboards are a dangerous piece of sporting equipment and will be in the water with you. Pointed at one end, with one or more switchblade like fins ready to slice anything that gets in their way. The Sea Bed will also pose a danger to anyone in the water. If it's a sandy bottom, it will feel like concrete if a wave pounds you down upon it. If it is a rock reef it might as well be concrete.

The list goes on and on. Please don’t think we are trying to put you off, quite the opposite really. Bodyboarding really is a cracking sport. It is a great form of exersise and the rewards are hard to find elsewhere. We are simply highlighting the dangers and risks associated with this great sport.

However do not despair, this is where Totally Sports Insurance come in. We have developed a Personal Insurance Policy that will give you financial protection, if you suffer an accident or injury whist Bodyboarding. You can also be covered for other sports, all on one single policy.
